Resumen

This article aims to analyze the weighting of the components of intellectual capital, as well as to assess their importance in the perception and creation of value in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Seeks to identify the different behaviors related to the valuation of the components of intellectual capital showing the profile of the HEIs sector, based on actions that favor the increase of value of certain components of intellectual capital that have been considered of little relevance to the IES and that may constitute potential competitive advantages. For that, a set of metrics are proposed to evaluate intellectual capital with the purpose of increasing the value of HEIs, through indicators of continuous improvement.
