Educational Levels and Reading, Attendance at Libraries, Economy and CultureAbstract
This article analyzes from the fundamentals of the economy of culture, whether attending libraries and reading is associated with higher educational levels in five Colombian cities. Theoretical elements are taken from this branch of economics, since reading books and attending libraries are goods and services of a cultural nature. DANE's National Reading Survey (ENLEC, 2017) is used and the Multilevel Logistic Regression is used to determine that attendance at libraries and reading is correlated with higher educational levels in Barranquilla, Bucaramanga and Bogotá, while in Medellín and Cali, there is no association towards higher educational levels.
