This article presents a review of academic publications on rural education and ICT within the years 2011 to 2019. The purpose of this review was to analyze the academic production in the field of children and youngsters’ formal education in rural schools and the integration of ICT in these contexts. The study aimed to analyze 52 articles found in nine (9) academic databases. Three phases were followed for the review: First, the article selection with the application of selection criteria. Second, data collection was made through a bibliometric approach and the scientific production indicators used in the analysis were: publication year, authors, academic databases, authoring country and type of article. The third part presents the results with a descriptive synthesis of the scientific production. Results show an increasing interest in this object of study, particularly by academics from developing countries.
