Resumen

Los cuentos infantiles constituyen un recurso mediante el cual las culturas construyen y transmiten valores, que se expresan típicamente en los comportamientos de los personajes. En sus versiones publicadas bajo el título Revolting Rhymes (2008), el autor galés Roald Dahl desafía los valores transmitidos en algunos cuentos infantiles tradicionales. Este trabajo muestra la forma en que tal cuestionamiento se manifiesta en la construcción de los personajes de Cinderella de Dahl, mediante un análisis lingüístico Sistémico-Funcional (Halliday and Mathiessen 2004). Para ello, se exploran los patrones de transitividad en los que los personajes principales están involucrados y se realiza un análisis comparativo con una versión tradicional de este cuento. El análisis revela interesantes diferencias, especialmente en la construcción de los roles femeninos y masculinos.
