School mediation: an instrument that promotes a culture of peace and nonviolence

The permanent search to reach a social equilibrium in contexts and scenarios crossed by conflict and violence
has given place to the emergence of new paradigms and mediating practices that help to improve coexistence
in the different scenarios of daily life. In this sense, this article deals with the concepts of Culture of Peace and
Nonviolence, from all its transformative content of the conflict and its commitment to a peaceful coexistence,
even in the midst of disagreement.
In this, it establishes a key relationship with school mediation to achieve its objectives, pointing to the school
as one of the most important training spaces for the development of a democratic society with the capacity
to manage its own conflicts without resorting to violence. Later, he presents the results of a process of approaching
school mediation in a school in Medellín. Finally, it offers generic conclusions of all the exposed.
