The scientific research article related to; The characterization of sports leagues in the Atlántico department is relevant for sports in this region, for providing solid bases for making decisions and implementing effective sports policies with positive impacts at the departmental and national levels, as a process to understand the functioning of sport, according to the Sports Law 181 of 1995, which governs the organizational requirements of sport in all its areas, This allows sports leagues to analyze in sports terms the detection and promotion of talent in athletes. Or His goal was; identify administrative characteristics of Atlantic sports leagues. Its methodology was quantitative, under a cross-sectional descriptive design. Theoretically, it was based on authors such as: Michael (1996), Quintero & Murillo (2023), Gálvez & Morales (2015), among others. The research had the institutional support of the academic program: sport and physical culture of the autonomous university of the Caribbean.
