Resumo

This article presents a review of state of the art about maintenance management, identifying problems faced by researchers in the field, the methodologies applied and results achieved; it became a contextualization of issues being addressed in the field and research trends in maintenance management were identified. With the search was considered as the main topic of interest, design, implementation and use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems - CMMS as a tool for optimizing management of physical assets, which is left open the need for research in this area, looking applications that provide solutions to productive sector requirements to contribute to their competitiveness.
