Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el nivel de conocimiento y aplicación de prácticas de responsabilidad social (RS) en las micros, pequeñas y medianas empresas (Mipymes) de Sincelejo, Departamento de Sucre, Colombia. A través de un sistema de ponderaciones, basado en la regularidad e implementación de programas de responsabilidad social, se examina la frecuencia y las características de dichos programas en 225 empresas de la ciudad. Para la obtención de los datos se realizaron encuestas persona a persona con los propietarios de las empresas en el 2014. Los resultados muestran que las prácticas utilizadas con mayor frecuencia por las Mipymes, están relacionadas con el fomento del bienestar social de la comunidad y de los empleados, mientras que las actividades de gestión operativa y el uso de recursos ambientales se implementan con menor regularidad. Los hallazgos sugieren la necesidad de crear e incorporar programas formales de RS en las Mipymes de Sincelejo. Ademas, se pudo detectar que, en su mayoría, las actividades de RS estan orientados internamente y con muy poca relación con la gestión de sus actividades empresariales.
