Remoción de Pb (II), Ni (II) y Cr (VI) en soluciones acuosas usando matrices modificadas químicamente

En este artículo se realiza una descripción general de la aplicación de materiales de bajo costo obtenidos de residuos vegetales y matrices orgánicas modificadas para reemplazar el uso de métodos convencionales en la remoción de metales, evitando problemas subsecuentes como la generación de lodos químicos, y proponiendo un uso alternativo a materiales considerados como desechos. Se sabe que la presencia de ciertos grupos funcionales, hace aplicables estos residuos en la captura eficiente de iones metálicos, sin embargo, se encuentra que factores como el pH de la solución y la concentración del metal influyen en el proceso. En general, se establece que el tratamiento con ácidos y la posterior transformación de las matrices a carbón activo aumentan la capacidad de adsorción, además es el modelo pseudo segundo orden y la isoterma de Langmuir, las ecuaciones más usadas para describir
la cinética y el comportamiento de adsorción.
