Remoción de Mercurio (II) en solución acuosa usando residuo industrial de yuca (Manihot esculenta)

Resumen

Se estudió la remoción de mercurio (II) en solución acuosa usando residuo industrial de yuca teniendo en cuenta variables como el pH y la concentración inicial del metal. El material adsorbente fue pretratado y caracterizado. Se determinó que la cinética de adsorción se ajusta a un modelo de primer orden y que el tiempo para el equilibrio de remoción es de dos horas. La capacidad máxima de remoción que se obtuvo fue de 0.03 mmol/g a una concentración inicial de mercurio (II) de 400 mg/L y a un pH de 6. Adicionalmente, se obtuvo que la adsorción de este metal a pH de 4.75 y 6 se ajusta de manera adecuada al modelo de adsorción de Langmuir.
