Abstract

The objective of the present investigation was to find evidence of the response that the Peruvian stock market experienced to the impact of the news of the American banking crisis in the first quarter of 2023 and the time it took for the response and likewise to identify the causality. For the study, the daily historical series of prices of the shares of the banks that entered into crisis in the first quarter of 2023 and the general index of the Lima Stock Exchange were selected. A quick response was obtained with a fall in the Peruvian stock index.
