Direct Foreign Investment in The State of Veracruz, Mexico: Analysis and Perspective

La globalización económica se es un fenómeno global que se ha caracterizado por la pontecialización de elementos como la apertura comercial, el desarrollo de las innovaciones tecnológicas y por la desregulaciónde la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) en los ámbitos nacionales. Como parte de estos avances, las empresas multinacionales juegan un papel fundamental en la integración de países y regiones a la economía mundial. El objetivo de esteartículo de reflexión es identificar los factores y ventajas que posee el estado de Veracruz para atraer IED, y conocer su evolución durante el periodo 2009-2014. El artículo aborda el comportamiento que ha registrado la IED en Veracruz durante los últimos años. Se realizó un análisis de la situación socioeconómica de Veracruz en donde se identifican las ventajas y debilidades que éste tiene respecto a los demás estados de la república para atraer IED. Finalmente, se concluye con una serie de recomendaciones institucionales.
Resumen

Resumo
A globalização econômica é um fenômeno caracterizado pela potencialização de elementos como a liberalização do comércio, o desenvolvimento de inovações tecnológicas e a desregulamentação do investimento direto estrangeiro (IDE). O objetivo desta reflexão é identificar os fatores e vantagens que o estado de Veracruz tem para atrair IED e conhecer sua evolução no período 2009-2014. Para tanto, foi feita uma análise da situação socioeconômica de Veracruz, onde são identificadas as vantagens e fraquezas que tem em relação aos demais estados da República para atrair IDE. Por fim, conclui com uma série de recomendações institucionais.
