Abstract

This study addresses the experiences and challenges of young women in Barranquilla during their transition from their twenties to their thirties. The purpose is to develop illustrated graphic content that helps them to cope assertively with the changes associated with the adaptation process, answering the question: How to contribute to the development of the life cycle of young women in Barranquilla who are in the process of transition to emerging adulthood, through the creation of graphic content that functions as a guide for emotional management today? The project focuses on the emotional and psychological needs identified in this demographic group, providing attractive and functional visual material that acts as a guide for emotional management. This study places women at the centre of the design process to ensure that the illustrations, stories and resources reflect their experiences. This process involved several phases, from empathy to prototype testing, using interviews, and direct analysis of the results. The qualitative ethnographic research, with a holistic approach, allowed us to delve into individual and collective perspectives, involving a diverse group of participants selected through demographic and psychological criteria; based on the theoretical foundations of positive psychology, feminist theory and visual communication. The project demonstrated the importance of humor, using it in a thoughtful and respectful manner, as an effective tool for addressing complex issues.
