Estudio hidrodinámico de equipos de concentración gravimétrica tipo JIG

Este artículo presenta una investigación numérica de la obtención de un modelo semifísico de Base Fenomenológica
(MSBF) de parámetros distribuidos como herramienta útil en el diseño, control y optimización de un
Jig el cual es un equipo de concentración gravimétrica mediante corrientes pulsadas de alto rendimiento y alta
recuperación, ampliamente utilizado en el procesamiento de minerales. Se realiza una descripción detallada de
la obtención de un MSBF a partir del conocimiento y principios básicos de los procesos: balances de materia,
cantidad de movimiento y trayectoria de partículas, así como principios hidrodinámicos para obtener ecuaciones
constitutivas. Se aplica el procedimiento a la etapa de concentración en una planta de procesamiento de oro. El
modelo se contrasta con un Jig real a través de la simulación.
