A Digital Model to Analyze the Operational Behavior of the Manufacture of Enclosure Meshes

The manufacture of enclosure meshes is growing in all parts of the world. Due to their great versatility, they are used in a large number of places. For example. In most sports centers in cities, so that spectators do not have contact with athletes. In rural areas, are used to enclosure domestic animals. In addition, are also used in many other places, due to their great capacity to provide security, as well as to delimit private places. Therefore, in this study, the manufacture of enclosure meshes it is analyzed using a digital model, to know the operational behavior in the manufacture. These have the shape of a rhombus, interlaced transversely. They are made with galvanized wire by a weaver, who takes the wire and gives it a rhomboid shape as if he were trying to make a braid with the required dimensions. This study began with the collection of information for the manufacture of mesh for enclosures in a company in the city of Barranquilla. With this information, a digital model was designed in the Arena software, where it was observed that, during the simulation time, only 1% of the materials were rejected. In turn, it was also observed that the percentages of use of the weaving machine, the weaving operator, and the winding operator were 4%, 4%, and 3%, respectively. At the end of this study, it was concluded that the use of this simulation tool is very useful for the analysis of processes. It was recommended to the studied company that, to increase productivity, it should increase its sales
