The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of the plasticizer, the mixing time, the temperature and the amount of plasticizer in the soft capsule formulation. To study the degradation time of the capsule in water, an experiment design per block of Greco-Latin squares was built, an experimentation protocol was designed and carried out, minimizing controllable experimental noises. Subsequently, a 2k factorial design was built to evaluate the degradation time of the capsule in alcoholic medium formulated with different types and amounts of plasticizers. The results show that the mixing time and temperature do not present significant effects on the response variable. The amount of plasticizer and the type of plasticizer are influencing factors in the degradation time in water; and only the type of plasticizer was influential for the degradation time of the capsule in alcohol.
