Implementación preliminar de la técnica presión calibrada restringida en el procesamiento de la aleación de aluminio Prodax

En este trabajo se evaluó la viabilidad de implementar la técnica presión calibrada restringida (CGP) en el procesamiento de la aleación de aluminio PRODAX. Para esto, se realizaron pruebas de caracterización química mediante Fluorescencia de Rayos X (XRF), caracterización microestructural mediante microscopía electrónica de barrido y caracterización mecánica mediante ensayos de tracción y microdureza. El material fue sometido a un tratamiento térmico de solubilizado a 525 °C durante 60 minutos para eliminar el efecto endurecedor de los compuestos de segunda fase; sin embargo, se evidenció agrietamiento al aplicar el primer pase de CGP a una velocidad de deformación de 5 mm/min. Por tanto, se realizó un tratamiento térmico de solubilizado a 540 °C durante 480 minutos con el fin de recristalizar la fase alfa de aluminio y mejorar significativamente la respuesta del material ante un CGP con una velocidad de deformación a 0.1 mm/min.
