Validación del modelo matemático “Función de densidad de probabilidad (pdf) de Weibull”, evaluando el recurso eólico en la zona del caribe colombiano: caso estudio

Este articulo presenta el análisis de las mediciones de la velocidad del viento para una estación meteorológica localizada en la ciudad de Barranquilla, zona norte de Colombia, por parte del Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales de Colombia (IDEAM), en los años 2012 y 2013, utilizando medidas de tendencia central e histogramas de frecuencia relativa y absoluta, que permiten estimar las velocidades más frecuente en esta zona. A partir de las funciones de densidad de probabilidad de Weibull (PDF) calculadas a partir de los histogramas para los años 2012 y 2013, fue posible predecir el comportamiento de la velocidad del viento para el año 2014, incurriendo en pequeños errores estadísticos en la predicción, lo cual permitió obtener una caracterización del recurso eólico en el lugar más acertada, posibilitando el desarrollo de modelos para convertirla potencia del viento en energía eléctrica.
