Construcción de una red móvil funcional móvil basada en Open RAN para aplicaciones de la industria 4.0

Uno de los principales objetivos de la industria 4.0 es la optimización de los diferentes procesos industriales mediante el aumento de la conectividad y la interoperabilidad de máquinas y sistemas, lo que permite una producción más eficiente y flexible, de tal modo que dentro de los principios de este enfoque se destacan: interoperabilidad, virtualización, descentralización, capacidad en tiempo real, orientación a servicios y modularidad. A nivel de las redes de comunicación de datos en la industria 4.0, es importante destacar que las aplicaciones industriales requieren comunicaciones con latencias muy bajas y alta confiabilidad para garantizar la seguridad y eficiencia operativa, de tal modo que las redes convencionales no perimiten satisfacer estas demandas. De acuerdo a lo anterior, en este trabajo se propuso como contribución la construcción de una red móvil funcional basada en Open RAN para aplicaciones de la industria 4.0. Para el desarrollo de la presente investigación, fueron definidas 4 fases metodológicas a saber: F1. Diseño y planificación de la arquitectura, F2. Implementación del núcleo de red, F3. Despliegue del RAN con OpenAirInterface y F4. Validación, Optimización y Casos de Uso. A nivel de los resultados, se diseñó e implementó la arquitectura de una red móvil badada en Open RAN mediante el uso de herramientas del código abierto, la cual fue especificada para servicios de streaming adaptativo MPEG-DASH. La arquitectura propuesta e implementada se verificó mediante un caso de estudio en donde se estimó la calidad de la experiencia en el consumo de videos tipo A y E usando la infraestructura extremo a extremo. La arquitectura propuesta, pretende servir de referencia para las universidades y empresas de cara a la implementación de servicios de la industria 4.0 mediante el enfoque de Open RAN.
