Outsourcing and employment. The case of state universities in Chile

It seeks to describe the phenomenon of "outsourcing" and employment in Chilean state universities, to guide their respective processes. The tenders for subcontracted activities (97 cases) are analyzed, being able to determine the percentage level assigned to the evaluation criteria in public tenders, especially the criterion "conditions of employment and remuneration", related to the working conditions of the workers of said subcontracted companies. A statistical-descriptive analysis was carried out, applying logistic regression, to find cause-effect variables; it was established that the variables "profit margin" and "accreditation" positively impact the factor "employment and working conditions"; On the other hand, the "size" factor, expressed as "enrollment", negatively affects said criterion, these three variables being significant.

Scientific journal management: a practical concept that has not been theorized

It seeks to describe the concept and processes of the Management of Scientific Journals, to unify theoretical criteria around the management of journals. Documentary analysis (systematic review of Web Of Science and Scopus databases) is carried out, extracting papers that refer to the term "journal management" in their content. A total of 61 documents resulted, of which, through the exclusion criteria, a total of 36 were reviewed, adding the term "journal governance", obtaining 2 more articles for consultation, in addition to 9 additional documents. It is concluded that the term Magazine Management is explicitly named in many of these articles, but that to date there is no fully developed concept.

Work stress and resilience in a public university in Chile: perceptions of teleworking in times of pandemic

The objective is to analyze the resilience and work stress of the administrative staff of this university in times of pandemic (Covid-19) and its relationship with the perception of telework. The methodology is quantitative with descriptive-correlational scope, where 251 employees participated (non-probabilistic sampling). It is evidenced a high level of resilience of the employees, low level of work stress and a positive perception of telework. Resilience presents an inverse relationship with work stress and a direct relationship with the perception of telework. The relevance of resilience in the work context studied in the face of adverse conditions is demonstrated.

Key dimensions of organizational culture: from the company to the public sector in Mexico

It seeks to comparatively analyze two cultural ecosystems: one of an organizational nature (commercial companies), the other institutional (Mexican public universities). The organizational culture is evaluated to determine key dimensions in both scenarios. The Denison model was used, which has allowed the generalization of results in several Latin American countries, as well as in various contexts, so it is pertinent to propose it to be implemented in this case under four cultural dimensions: (1) Consistency, (2) Participation, (3) Adaptability and (4) Mission. The research design is cross-sectional, with a quantitative methodological approach, using intentional non-probabilistic sampling by criteria. The results made it possible to identify bilateral meanings in all the proposed cultural dimensions, highlighting: "mission" and "participation". It was evidenced that there are bilateral meanings in all the cultural dimensions raised.

Media discourse on chilean dynamic capacities

Within the social and economic context of Chile, a qualitative investigation is conducted aiming to describe the conceptual characteristics of media discourses associated with the dynamic capabilities of organizations. The study identifies 16 significant constructs that articulate a discourse, which establishes the political causes involved in the dynamism of the environment and the social foundations of firm capabilities. The result is a process map that describes the prevailing mental model commonly found in the analyzed media discourses.

Differentiation as a strategy for the Metalworking Industry in Chile

Currently, in order to maintain competitiveness, the Chilean metalworking industry has opted for differentiation strategies. This paper studies the case of the company Aceromac. This firm has been forced to improve its value proposition and its business model. The way to face this challenge was through the application of Model 5d, which proposes an adaptation to the Balanced Scorecard (CMI) model and establishes as a basis the development of awareness in the organization's decision-making. Among the results obtained, it is observed that after the application of the model, there has been an improvement in the variation of sales (7.5%), even exceeding the proposed goal (7%).

Sustainability, sustainability and corporate social responsibility new scenarios?

The objective of the study focuses on analyzing the impact of the economic-social crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the sustainability, sustainability and social responsibility of companies in Chile. For this, the particular cases of the Delivery-Bike company are studied for their originality, and the opinion of students based on a forum called: Conscious Strategy vs. Crisis. The results position Delivery-Bike as an efficient company that connects with the needs of the environment, society and the environment. This is a profound cultural change for the benefit of workers and society.

The strategic management of business alliances

This theoretical research develops a reflection on the strategic management of alliances between firms, from an evolutionary perspective, with the purpose of describing the mechanisms in which collaborative practices operate between different business organizations. The result is a conceptual proposal, in which the alliance is understood as a compound organization, constituted by a main hybrid that operates together with multiple agents, based on collaborative behavior orientation mechanisms through two processes that would impact the psychology of the people: incentives and regulatory codes.

Conceptual foundations of integrated enterprise waste management

The phenomenon of pollution has been faced by companies through strategic and practical guidelines, with the purpose of avoiding the catastrophic consequences of poor waste management. In this research, a qualitative approach is used to carry out a documentary analysis of the public business reports of three companies, with the aim of characterizing the contents associated with the companies' waste management. The results show propositions that justify contamination and the description of activities to limit the negative effects of contamination, giving rise to a classification behavior that allows waste management.
